Well, quite a landmark today!
Our petition, calling for an investigation into the licencing activities of Natural England, has reached a quarter of a million signatures! I'm currently awaiting an official response to our campaign from Defra (the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), I'm due to hear from them within the next two weeks. This interaction is being facilitated by a highly respected MP who is sympathetic to the campaign. Meanwhile I'm hoping that the enormous level of public support for the petition will be picked up once again by the media, raising the profile of the issue further and increasing the pressure on the government to respond and act positively (for a change...) There has been little official government recognition of the petition up to this point but it seems unlikely that they can ignore such an extraordinarily high level of public concern. I'll update further when I have a response from Defra and hopefully we will have some more media coverage in the meantime. Please keep sharing the petition, we didn't dare dream of this level of support - but bolstered by this landmark figure, we are aiming ever higher. Next goal is 300,000, we can do it. Thank you, Jase SIGN/SHARE PETITION HERE

I was very "suprised" when Natural Resources Wales recently put out a statement in a local public newsletter that they were strongly considering allowing "wildfowling" in this area and they were asking for the local peoples opinion on "wildfowling". As this "area" is in the National park of Wales in an outstanding area of natural beauty and this area has several "nature reserves" I didnt think this "sounded right". Then I noticed your petition, I was again very suprised this activity is being "allowed" all over the UK by the very agencies that are supposed to protect the natural enviroment. This all "reeks" of certain people in "power" using thier "trusted" postions for selfish "entertainment" and "sports". I really hope your petitions can change this somehow to protect our beautiful national heritage from the very "institutions" that were set up for the job.

my cousin, who works for Natural England could not believe this was true! She has since checked with someone and sent me an apology (she is very angry)
