* "Haughty attitude" from Natural England as data is delayed yet again
* Freedom of Information results also delayed Hey folks, well guess what? Just as the lethal control licence data was supposed to be published, our friends at Natural England have decided, (after three months of promising that the stats are 'ready to go'), that we the public still are not allowed to see the figures - and they've postponed publication yet again. I wonder why? It's almost as though they are trying to hide something isn't it? Or are they just dithering and blithering? Take your pick. Haughty Attitude Bear in mind that under the agreement I made with Natural England back in 2019, the data is supposed to be published annually in March, so it's already more than three months late. Last month their Head of National Operational Projects and Complex Cases, David Slater, told me that publication had been rescheduled yet again. "....sadly this is out of my hands...the earliest slot I have been able to get is 10th June..." he said, "would you believe..." I'm assuming that the lack of a question mark was intentional, his "would you believe" was clearly rhetorical, and he perhaps wasn't interested in an answer. I contacted him again last week on the morning of 10th June, the big, much anticipated, day of publication, and asked if he could confirm that the data was going live. I'm still waiting for an answer.... I've not even had the courtesy of a response. It's this haughty attitude that has given Natural England such a bad reputation with the public. That and slaughtering our wildlife of course. Freedom Of Information - Delayed Anticipating this turn of events, last month I decided to submit a freedom of information request to obtain the data, 'just in case' the figures didn't materialise on time. Well, yesterday as the results of that foi request were becoming due, I heard from an 'adviser' on Natural England's Legal and Governance Team (they have a lot of 'advisers' you know), with this:- "I regret that we must extend the time limit for responding by 20 days to 09 July 2021 as we are currently clearing the stats through our Comms Team ready for publication". She helpfully added "...although we hope to reply sooner." I'm not holding my breath. "Clearing the stats....for publication". Weren't the stats supposed to be 'ready to go' months ago? "We Have Nothing To Hide" But don't worry everyone, let's remember what I was told back in 2019 when Natural England were imploring us to believe that they were committed to being open and transparent about their work. "We have nothing to hide" they insisted. Really? It's beginning to look a lot as though they are desperate to conceal everything from the public, at least until they "clear the stats". Anyway folks, we're here for the long haul I think. Hang in there people, things are just getting interesting. And remember, the truth will out. Best, Jase Campaign Petition: CLICK HERE

This delay is deliberate and they obviously have one thing to hide! There is no excuse for this delay - probably need more time to falsify the documentation or it will be 99% redacted. These authorities have no shame and that’s why the public have zero trust in them!!!!😡

Hi Jason. Natural England are not what they say they are, and seem hopeless at preserving anything ‘natural’ in England. Look at the Ecocide happening with the ridiculous HS2 line! Birds don’t stand a chance under NE’s ‘guidance’.

Difficult, if not impossible, to believe that they have nothing to hide.

At least Natural England is saying they will supply the info. Some institutions say the info will take too long to collate so refuse the request as it's too costly.

Sadly, not at all surprised. My experience of Natural England is that they are totally useless. Still hoping to see the return of swathes of orchids etc in my local SSSI, but unlikely since the devastation wreaked by tractor/digger, a few years ago, illegally, but NE says its all being managed well..????

Even though Natural England is a Quango, are there no rules that they must abide by? and are there not time scale limitations on receiving a reply to freedom of information requests.

1. Natural England is not a Quango. It is a branch of DEFRA.

I can't say I am surprised that you are still waiting for the figures to be released. Whenever a company or institution does the opposite of what the rules and common sense dictate, my mantra tends to be "Follow the money!" There is a definite aroma pervading this whole process and I can only hope that all becomes clear, sooner rather than later.

Who is paying the salaries of Natural England? Find out who is in charge of wages, then we can contact our local MP to ask for release of information. Withholding information which is currently available and not sensitive to the government I.E. secret or security means Natural England are breaking ENGLISH Law.

They are probably takes a donation from a shooting group. Are they registered as a charity? We need to see their accounts to check for corrupt practice.

Indeed not the sort of behaviour you'd expect from a Natural England which has nothing to hide.

I suggest you notify them that you will make a formal complaint to the Information Commissioner if they do not reply within their, self awarded 20 day extension. If they do not reply make the complaint.

This is typical of all these so called companies, they are only transparent when it suits them, it does make you wonder if they have a hidden agenda, like back handers to grease sweaty palms. Animals never back stab only greedy humans

Sounds like they've uncovered data unpalatable to them and perhaps unrecognised until now. Whatever the reason(s) it needs to stop and there be a complete overhaul of the system and probably personnel running it.

Natural England must have a great deal to hide. They are probably just as corrupt as some aspects of our current government, and past for that matter.

Sad isn't it-Natural England, just like the other U.K so called "statutory" nature conservation bodies are more of a national joke-what makes me angry is they get away with it. One hopes Jason that one day, this institutional lying and hiding the truth by these bodies will be a thing of the past-trouble is at the moment-they are merely told what to do from their Government paymasters -having said that, just like the achievements of " Wild Justice" persistence does often pay off and exposes the truth behind hypocrisy from NE. and their "masters" and exposes the reality of state sponsored killing of our precious and beautiful wildlife(think Badgers and perhaps Beavers and too many species of native wild birds to list!)

No doubt conservative appointed and conservative led. No integrity, no intention of protecting the environment or the wildlife within it. No care for the country or the people who wish to enjoy it without killing everything in sight.

Just as others are saying, National England are a disgrace. More than likely the figures will not be looking good, so a bit of doctoring may need to be done. Thank you Jason for being our voice. I'm sure many many more of us feel the same way.
